    De manier waarop wij voedsel maken, kopen en eten heeft grote impact op de planeet. Gelukkig hebben we goed nieuws: over de hele wereld zijn mensen hard bezig dit te veranderen.

    Coronavirus update 

    Unfortunately, the Floriade Dialogues Summit is postponed and will not take place on the 26th of March, 2020. This is because of the measures regarding the coronavirus. All events with over 100 people are cancelled, and sadly that affects the Summit too.

    We had a sold-out edition ready with a great line-up of changemakers, a nice location and good food. We are really doing the best we can to reschedule this edition. Let’s make the changemaking happen as soon as possible!

    We are exploring new dates and will announce an update as soon as possible. But right now, everybody’s health is the most important thing we have to take into account.

    Take care of yourself and of each other. We will keep you posted!

    Tijdens de Floriade Dialogues Summit over Changemakers in Food laten voedselhelden van over de hele wereld zien hoe zij het voedselsysteem veranderen. Van pionierende boeren tot dappere beleidsmakers en dierenactivisten. Deze veranderaars laten je zien hoe dingen anders kunnen! Bekijk het hele programma hieronder.

    We danken iedereen voor het grote enthousiasme: het event zit vol en de registraties zijn gesloten.

    Carolyn Steel (UK)
    Carolyn Steel is a leading thinker on food and cities. She wrote the bestseller Hungry City: How Food Shapes Our Lives. In March 2020 her new visionary book Sitopia will come out. She will present how our world is shaped by food, which key figures (from Aristotle to modern ecologists) have changed the food system. And show how food can save the world!

    Ryan Gellert (USA)
    Ryan Gellert is the general manager for the activist outdoor apparel brand Patagonia. He oversees all sales, marketing, sustainability and operational initiatives. Patagonia’s mission statement is: “We’re in business to save our home planet”. And they act like it. The brand consistently positioned itself at the forefront of sustainability and environmentalism. How can activism contribute to change? Ryan Gellert will share his latest insights. 

     

    Changemakers: pitch + masterclass

    Tijdens de Summit laten acht Changemakers zien hoe zij het verschil maken vanuit hun expertise.

    Asma Khan (India / UK) –  Influencing
    You might know Asma Khan from her award-winning cookbook Asma’s Indian Kitchen, or from Netflix’s Chef’s Table. Asma started out her career in law, but cooking was always her passion. She began her food career in 2012 as a supper club in her home. Five years later, her restaurant Darjeeling Express opened its doors, which is breaking barriers with a rockstar all-women kitchen. Asma Khan will show how to change the world through influencing.

    Ruud Zanders

    Ruud Zanders (NL) –  Entrepreneurship

    Ruud Zanders is the co-founder of Kipster, the most sustainable and animal friendly poultry farm in the world. At Kipster they work with food waste to feed the chickens, produce CO2-neutral eggs and they take responsibility for the roosters, the brothers of the laying hens. At the Summit he will show how to change the food system with innovative entrepreneurship.

    Dorothy Shaver

    Dorothy Shaver (USA) –  Intrapreneurship

    Dorothy Shaver is Global Sustainability Lead for Knorr and Registered Dietitian at Unilever. Together with WWF, she works on the campaign and report “Future 50 Foods: 50 Foods for Healthier People and a Healthier Planet.” From more beans and mushrooms to algae and cacti, it’s essential we change our eating habits to protect the planet and our food security.  At the Summit she will show how being an intrapreneur can implement change in one of the largest multinationals in the world.

    Marianne Thieme (NL) – Activism
    Marianne Thieme co-founded the Partij voor de Dieren (Party for the Animals), the first elected political party that puts the whole planet and all its inhabitants centre stage. Last year she stepped down as party to build an international political movement for animal rights. During the Floriade Dialogues Summit she will show us how to change the world through activism.

    Claire Pritchard (UK) – Policy 
    Claire Pritchard is co-founder and Chair of the London Food Board. The board advises the Mayor of London and the London Assembly to help all Londoners access healthy, affordable and sustainable food – regardless of their background and circumstances. At the Floriade Dialogues Summit she will show how to change the food system by changing policy.

    Carla Cammilla Hjort (Denmark) – Design 
    Carla Cammilla Hjort is a cultural designer and activist. She’s the woman behind multiple communities such as ArtRebels and SPACE10. She is driven by her passion for people, society and culture, and initiates concepts, projects and communities that help deliver positive change. During the Floriade Dialogues Summit she will show how design contributes to change!

    Speaker-Kisilu Muysa

    Kisilu Musya (Kenya) – Journalism

    Kisilu Musya is a Kenyan small-scale farmer, filmmaker and community leader. He brings his community together to find common solutions for small scale farming in this changing climate. Kisilu Musya started filming his environment and the damages of climate change, resulting in the award-winning film Thank You For The Rain.

    The film is produced by Norwegian film company Differ Media. They use films to create change and put climate justice on the agenda. Johanne Kristensen Sandvik (Norway) is impact producer at Differ Media and will give the Changemaker Masterclass with Kisilu. Together they will show the power that journalism can have in changing the food system!

    Ndidi Nwuneli (Nigeria) – Education
    Ndidi Nwuneli is a social entrepreneur. Through her work in food and agriculture she is committed to scaling social innovation on the African Continent. She is the founder of LEAP Africa, a youth leadership nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire, empower and equip new leaders with tools for transformation. She will show education can lead to big changes!

    Helen Kranstauber (NL)・Moderator
    Helen Kranstauber is a real food change agent. As a founder of campaigning agency Food Cabinet, she mobilises people and organisations towards a future proof food system. She was also one of the founders of the Dutch Slow Food Youth Network and the Food Film Festival. 

    Nadia Zerouali (NL)・Chef and Flevo Campus ambassador
    Nadia Zerouali is a culinary writer of multiple cookbooks, runs the Couscousbar in Amsterdam and has her own arabic mediterranean product line on the supermarket shelves. She also is the face of different tv-shows and an ambassador of the Flevo Campus.

    Changemakers in Food is de tweede editie van de Floriade Dialogues Summit. Een jaarlijkse bijeenkomst ter introductie van de Floriade Expo 2022 in Almere. Dit is event is een internationaal platform voor debat gecombineerd met praktische inzichten.
